Response Questions Abouts Clubs from Sam- Head off Macs Club

Do you think your club is successful? How come if yes and how not if no? No, I deem the success of the club on the success of events. So far we have held two events and neither of them have had what we would call a successful turnout (20 people) What are you trying to do to make your club more noticeable around uni? Promotion is key but there is so much going on around uni that it is really really hard to cut through the noise. Our most successful ways to promote seem to be through lectuers and physically going and talking to a class. What would you say make people not join clubs at uni? THe monetary cost and the time cost. Do you think clubs at uni are promoted enough? Would you change how they are promoted and how would you do that? I do think the promotion around clubs needs to change, if they were seen as a more popular thing I think they would enefit a lot of students and by having a large amount of active members the events held would be better also. As to how I would go about this im not really sure but I think 1st years and 2nd years need to be the target because I personally had no idea about Massey clubs until being approached by a lecturer to lead one. What would your reaction be to no-commitments clubs? What does this even mean??? What do you think of a space just for clubs that they can meet up in, and customize for the needs of that meeting? MAWSA have kind of just craeted this in their old office space. We personally haven't yet used it because it's not a very nice comfortable welcoming space but I think it has potential.
