After discussion, we have decided to move forward with a new idea but still keep "clubs" as a remaining factor. We have decided to go with an event in which Massey will run mainly for First year students but it will also involve the other years.
We have decided on creating a festival which involves a "sports day" even aspect of competition agains groups or houses and afterwards a chance to look at clubs and other things provided by Massey.
This would be a similar thing to Oweek but it involves the whole campus by bringing the students together to compete/ connect. It will be a fun event which happens annually and it will hopefully become a tradition in which the students at Massey will look forward to it each year. This event/ festival will hopefully provide Massey with a culture that people will want to see and be apart of.
We want to continue our idea of "clubs", so we have decided that there will be a "club" that organises the event/ festival. This combines both of our ideas and creates a transformational difference for the students of Massey. Having the "club" run/ organise the event/ festival will acknowledge the "clubs" at Massey (as they are not noticed/ successful at present) and therefore creating a positive outlook on clubs by producing the event/ festival.
The people who are in the "club" that runs the event/ festival will be second+ years/ seniors as the festival will be aimed at first years but it will also bring second+ years back into the excitement of going to university.
